Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) in Malaysia has unveiled the Onyx, the country's first cinema LED screen. The 10.3m screen manufactured by Samsung promises unparalleled vivid colours in 4K resolution.

Located in GSC's flagship Mid Valley Megamall cinema, the Onyx supports HDR (high dynamic range) for a more vibrant and immersive viewing experience.

GSC says because it's not a projector, ambient lights can be turned on in the hall which makes it ideal for child-friendly screenings or hosting e-Sport tournaments.

The cinema hall has also received a face lift and has a brand new interior and plush eco-leather seats from Ferco's Opus range.
