Premier League football club Southampton have repeatedly made further investments in their hospitality and executive offering at the St Mary's Stadium, since the stadium opened in 2001.

St Mary's has a capacity of 32,689 and is one of only a handful of stadia in Europe to meets UEFA's Four Star criteria

Award-winning sports architecture practice, KSS have worked with Southampton FC in recent years on a wide range of upgrades at the stadium, including a new pitch-side lounge, improved catering facilities and the refurbishment of the home team changing room.

The new 40-person lounge was named the 1885 after the year the club was founded. The new lounge offers Southampton's most premium hospitality package, with a priority entrance, stunning pitch side views, complimentary drinks, and excellent food.

Continuing the VIP treatment, guests are able to enjoy the match from some of the best seats in the ground.

Anthony Cole-Johnson, Sales Director at Southampton FC at the time, said:

The new lounge [1885] sets a fresh benchmark for our hospitality proposition here at Southampton Football Club for both match days and just as importantly non match days.

Ferco were engaged by KSS and Southampton to provide executive-style seats for outside the new lounge.

A high-end seat for discerning guests who expect only the best, the ARC VIP padded stadium seat was an obvious choice with its high back, wide seat pan and padded side panels.

This seat is extremely popular for director and corporate areas in a variety of sporting venues all over the world.

Upholstered in the club red, Southampton further customised their seats with the addition of '1885' embroidered into every back-rest.

KSS Director, Andy Simons, said:

We are very excited to see how this new lounge offer is received, we think it will be very popular for both match days and conferences.

If 1885 is as successful as we anticipate, then this could be the start of a whole new range of hospitality offers at the club.
